Design Equality: Why Benly Design Is Making Watches Fun Again
Share
Let's be honest for a second.
Most affordable watches are copies of copies of copies. Same dive watch silhouette. Same dress watch dial. Different logo, same watch.
Then a brand like Benly Design shows up and asks a dangerous question:
What if the watch looked like nothing else on the wrist?
We like dangerous questions around here.
Who Is Benly Design?
Benly Design (BENLYDESIGN, also styled Benlywatch) is an international watch brand built on one idea they call "Design Equality": art level design should not require art gallery money.
That is not a slogan they printed and forgot. It is the whole company.
While most brands at this price play it safe, Benly designs like they are trying to get noticed in a crowded room. Because they are. And it is working. Their designs get written up by design publications, shared all over social media, and stopped on the street.
Every watch ships worldwide for free, carries a 1 year international warranty, and comes with 30 day returns. Real company. Real support. Real watches.
Design With a Point of View
Benly pulls from Y2K nostalgia, retro futurism, and cyberpunk, then builds watches nobody else is brave enough to build:
- The Stargazer, with a shroud style case so unusual that design magazine Core77 stopped to write about it
- The Mk2, a limited edition with an OLED display and sapphire glass
- The G100, a retro digital with a scrolling display straight out of the year 2000's idea of the future
- The L800, a slim Y2K piece that looks like a bracelet until someone spots the dial
You can spot a Benly across the room. In a sea of safe watches, that is the entire point.
The Lighthouse: The One We Reviewed
Our introduction to Benly was the Lighthouse, and it is still one of the most fun watches we have ever put on camera.
The Ocean Art Dial version takes the lighthouse idea literally: a lighthouse standing over a painted ocean scene, right there on your wrist. It is part watch, part miniature artwork, and it photographs like a dream.
We reviewed it on the channel in "A Lighthouse on Your Wrist?! This Watch Is WILD! BENLY Review" and the video took off, because people had simply never seen anything like it.
The current Lighthouse at Benly keeps the same spirit with honest specs: a Swiss quartz movement, a 39mm 316L stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, and 5 ATM water resistance. No mystery materials. No inflated retail price games.

Why This Actually Matters
Original design is the hardest thing in the affordable watch world. Copying a famous watch is easy and safe. Inventing a new shape and standing behind it is not.
When a brand proves that bold, original watches sell at prices normal people can pay, every other brand has to try harder. Competition builds better watches. Better watches mean more options for people like us.
And around here, fun is a feature. A watch that makes you smile every time you check the time is doing its job.
More Benly Is Coming
The Lighthouse was only the beginning of our relationship with Benly Design. A second Benly, the Planet Dashboard 2, is already in the pipeline for a full Watch Me Go Broke review. If the Lighthouse is anything to go by, you will want to see this one.

Final WMGB Thoughts
Safe is forgettable.
Original gets remembered.
Benly Design is building the most original watches in their price range, and they are doing it on purpose.
That is a brand worth introducing to this community.
